This week I had the privilege of being able to offer a little bit of support to two incredible animal charities, All Dogs Matter and The Mayhew Animal Home.
Both charities have been running festive competitions on Instagram so I gladly offered a bouquet to each of them.
I was absolutely delighted that the All Dogs Matter bouquet received a very generous winning bid for the flowers earlier this week - I’ll be putting lots of love into creating this box for sure!
The Mayhew has put the Petals 4 Paws bouquet on day 9 of their 12 days of Christmas giveaway which will go live on Instagram the weekend of 16th December. I’m really looking forward to sending some beautiful flowers to the lucky winner.
I first had the pleasure of meeting some of the All Dogs Matter team back in September when I had a stall at one of their fabulous annual events, The Great Hampstead Bark Off. What a joyful day that was and as it was my first opportunity to introduce Petals 4 Paws to my local community it’s one I will never forget!
I had my first conversation with the Mayhew Animal Home last month. I felt compelled to get in touch with them after reading an article in a local newspaper about the dramatic increase in animals needing to be rehomed. Also, in addition to the services they provide in their shelter they are supporting both individuals and food banks by providing much needed pet food, so that people who are struggling might be able to keep their beloved animals at home with them.
This is where my 1000 bowls idea came from and I am delighted to say that next week Petals 4 Paws will be making its first donation to Mayhew. Not only Petals 4 Paws, my husband Andy has a local roofing business, Roofcover and he too will be making a contribution.
We’ll be dropping off cat and dog food and in addition, we’ve got toys and treats for the animals that are currently in the shelter.
Please take a minute to read all about these incredible charities here:
Also, if ever you are putting some bits together for a food bank donation, if you can, pop some cat or dog food in there too. It doesn’t have to be the fancy stuff and it really will make a difference.
Merry Christmas!
